You have Questions. We have answers.

Why should we book an engagement session?

Besides the important Save-the-Date image, engagement sessions have remained popular for a few reasons. They allow you to get comfortable being photographed so your wedding day photos will be a piece of cake. They provide you with fun and casual couple portraits to share and display in your custom designed guest sign-in book for the day of.

What can we expect during the engagement session?

Engagement sessions are very relaxed. We move around the location to include a variety of backdrops and a mix of posed and candid shots. All engagement sessions take up to 1.5 hours and are shot at a location of your choice within the North Shore and greater Boston area. They are typically scheduled Monday - Thursday about 2 hours before sunset to take advantage of the best light.

How and when do we receive our engagement photos?

Couples will receive their photos via an invite to a private online gallery within 4-6 weeks. High-resolution un-watermarked images can be dowloaded directly from the gallery or ordered directly from my professional print lab via the gallery. For all images being shared on social media sites, I provide the web-resolution watermarked images to make it simple for clients to provide photographer credit. The gallery will remain active for up to six (6) months from the date of the delivery of wedding images.

How does the guest sign-in book design process work?

Couples will receive a favorites selection guide to share their favorites to include into the design layout. A first draft will be emailed for approval and/or edits. Once the final edits have been approved, the book will be ordered and delivered to the photographer first for quality control. The layout usually consists of about 18-23 images designed with plenty of white space for messages.

What Can we expect during our free consultation?

In-person consultations are a great way to get to know each other a bit better and have all of your questions answered prior to moving forward with booking. We can meet for coffee and talk about how your wedding planning is going. You can view album samples of my work and we can discuss what aspects of photography coverage are important to you so that I can propose the best coverage options for your day. Consultations are scheduled Monday-Thursday until 6pm. Video calls and phone consultations are also available for couples that are unable to meet in person.

How many weddings do you photograph per year?

So that I can provided a higher level of customer service to my couples, I typically photograph between 15-20 wedding per year.

Does your coverage include a second photographer?

Second photographer coverage is available for an additional affordable flat rate fee. Second photographer coverage is recommended for couples that are interested in multiple angles. They primarily focus on candid moments and detail images allowing the lead photographer more creative flexibility during the day. They help carry gear, assist with lighting and can help keep children focused during formal photos. To learn more about my wedding photography coverage pricing, please visit the Investment Page.

Do you offer retouching?

Yes, all images are edited for proper exposure, color correction and to enhance images to make you look your best while keeping it natural. Major retouching although rarely needed is available but billed additionally upon request.

Do you set aside time for formal portraits?

Yes. During our initial consultation we will discuss when, during the big day we will take small blocks of time to capture moments of the two of you alone, the bridal party and the family looking their finest. Upon booking, you will receive a template family formals list that works well for all couples. The ones that do not apply can be removed and all other non-immediate family member group photos can be taken at a later time after all of the formal events have taken place.

How far are you willing to travel?

Anywhere! However, I am based north of Boston and primarily work on the North Shore and Greater Boston area. I am open to photographing weddings throughout New England but additional travel rates and over night accommodations may apply.

What equipment do you use and are you insured?

I use all Nikon professional gear and I am a member of Nikon's professional network. I also bring backups cameras, lenses, lighting and batteries to every wedding. I carry full liability insurance and will happily provide a certificate upon request.

How far in advance should we book with you?

The sooner, the better. As most couples usually book 12-18 months in advance, popular weekend dates may be secured quickly, (especially during the busy wedding season of May-October). I typically recommend booking no later than a minimum of 8-12 months prior to your wedding. However, please do not hesitate to contact me anytime to check for dates availability, as even on short notice, dates may become available. Often times I have booked weddings only 2-3months before the date.

How do we secure our date with you?

A signed contract along with a 30% non-refundable retainer will be due at the time of booking to secure your date. Please note that bookings are on a first-come, first-serve basis and that no date will be secure without a signed contract and retainer. Checks are my preferred method of payment and the remaining balance will be due no later than 21 days before your wedding.

How & When do we receive our Wedding photos?

Couples will be invited to their private online gallery within 8-12 weeks. Images can be viewed, shared and printed directly from the professional print lab via the online gallery. The couple will receive a USB Drive in the mail containing both High-Resolution (without watermark - for printing) and Web-Resolution (with watermark-for social media sharing) images of both your engagement session and wedding as well as a PDF print release so you can print them wherever you like. The gallery will remain active for six (6) months from the delivery of images. I do strongly recommend backing up your USB Drive to multiple locations as soon as you can to ensure that all images are stored properly.
